What a Nice sunset boat tour is
A sunset trip is an evening on the water that times its return to the light. The shared ones
anchor in Villefranche bay for a drink and a swim, then come back past the Cap de Nice as the sun
goes down. You are home before dark.
The shared evening boats are a 12-seat RIB from the tram stop at Port Lympia and a
maxi-catamaran from the pontoon below Quai Amiral Infernet. Some charters also sell an evening
departure, with the boat to yourselves.
Why choose a sunset boat tour
The coast in the evening light
You see the same coast as a day trip, lit from the west, and you come back to the city as its
lights come on.
A drink at anchor is part of the fare
The RIB serves wine and local snacks, and the catamaran a planter's punch. None of the daytime

For a small boat and wine, take the RIB. For a bigger deck, a paddleboard and children under 5,
take the catamaran while its timetable lasts.
What you get, and what you don't
- On the RIB: a guide, wine, local snacks, masks, snorkels and a life jacket.
Tips are not included, and there is no restroom or shade.
- On the catamaran: about an hour at anchor, paddleboards, snorkels, a
planter's punch, and soft drinks and water from its fountains.
- On a sunset charter: the boat for your party. The SARDiiNE boat pours rosé
and serves delicacies, with a €300 local fee paid on site; the four-hour charter for up to
four has drinks aboard and prices its sunset option separately.
- Not on any of them: dinner.

Planning a sunset boat tour
- Budget: $62 a person for the RIB, $84 for the catamaran. The
RIB's own table runs from €55 in April and October to €75 in high summer.
- Dates: the catamaran's printed timetable stops on 5 October 2026, and the RIB
sails until 30 October. Book the evening boats a few days ahead in July and August.
- Arrive early: 15 minutes before at the RIB's quay, where late arrivals are
refused.
- Bring: a layer for the ride home, swimwear and a towel.
- Refunds: each of them refunds in full if you cancel 24 hours ahead.

Who should choose something else
- If you travel with a child under 5. The RIB refuses them. The catamaran
sails only to 5 October.
- If you are over 75, pregnant, or over 100 kg. The RIB refuses you too. Take
the catamaran, or a charter.
- If you want dinner on the water. No sunset boat here serves a meal. Eat
before you board, or after.

Is there a sunset boat tour in Nice?
Yes. Nissa Croisières runs a 12-seat RIB with wine and snacks until 30 October, 1 hour 30 in October. AMC Cape Grace's catamaran prints a sunset timetable only to 5 October, so check a later date with the operator before you plan on it.
What time do the sunset boats leave?
The catamaran boards at 19:30 from May to July, 19:00 in August and 18:30 from 1 September to 5 October, its last printed date. The RIB's time moves with the month and shows on the booking page.
Does the sunset RIB cost the same all season?
No. Its own table runs from €55 for 1 hour 30 in April and October to €75 for two hours from 16 June to 15 September. The price you see moves with the date you pick.
What do the sunset boats serve?
The RIB serves wine and local snacks, and the catamaran a planter's punch with soft drinks. The charters pour rosé or other drinks, and none serves dinner.
Are the boat trips suitable for children?
It depends on the boat. Nissa Croisières takes no children under 5 and the Poseidon boat no one under 12. The
Trans Côte d'Azur boats and the charters take families, and the Monaco ferry is stroller accessible.
Is there shade on board?
Not on the Nissa Croisières RIBs, so bring a hat and sunscreen. Happy Drive Tours' charter carries a parasol, and the day-cruiser from
Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat has shaded areas.
What happens if the sea is rough?
The operator decides on the day. Nissa Croisières postpones or cancels with a refund in bad weather, and Trans Côte d'Azur cancels a crossing only when the boat cannot sail. A charter captain may change the route to a calmer bay instead.
